I have a love/hate relationship with this pattern. I have made this particular quilt twice now. The first time I put this together I had one issue after another, and I was ready to throw it in the trash!! The first quilt had issues with the one border, iron scorch marks, and color bleeds from red fabric. The quilt ended up in a ball, in my closet for well over a year! I finally re-made the quilt instead of trying to fix the old one. The new quilt when together with no issues! I never did try putting the older version together - I gave it away instead of throwing it out. I gave away the old version to the Quilts of Valor group. I told them to feel free to cut it up and make sampler quilts or use as is - it will be interesting to see what they come up with!
This is the second quilt, and it is ready to send off to the quilter - Sonja at SoSews Quilts. I know that Sonja will do a fantastic job quilting it! I do need to make decisions on binding (red or white?).
This applique pattern has been written and I need a name - any suggestions?
I am currently finishing up 2 other patriotic quilt patterns. One pattern is much easier with just the large applique Eagle in middle and peiced blocks. The other quilt has no applique - just embroidery. I should be finished with those soon!
